Massacre were one of the early death metal bands on the Florida scene. The band was formed from the ashes of Death in their demo days. Rick Rozz and Kam Lee played on the first three Death demos and when Chuck Schuldiner (R.I.P.) left to join the Canadian band Slaughter (where he only stayed for two weeks) they recorded another demo as Death and then teamed up with Allan West to form Massacre.

Massacre recorded two demos and one EP which was never released since David Vincent, the owner of Goreque Productions, joined Morbid Angel instead (he was also going to release an EP from Morbid Angel at the time). Massacre temporarily disbanded in April of 1987 as the three members with instruments joined Death once again to record the "Leprosy" album.

In 1989 Kam reformed Massacre together with Rick and the bassist and drummer of the "Insult To Injury" line-up of Whiplash. They recorded an album called "Second Coming" which was never released. At that time they had already signed a deal with Earache Records and went back to their 1987 lineup to record their official debut album "From Beyond". After releasing "Promise" in 1996 the band broke up.
